Curtin University Building 611 Laboratory Collection Refurbishment

A comprehensive modernisation of aging laboratory facilities to support advanced research and teaching requirements. The project delivered thirteen new laboratories, including PC2-certified spaces, through a carefully staged construction approach that maintained operational continuity. Extensive service upgrades included $3 million in mechanical works and the installation of over 35 specialised gas lines. A new structural mezzanine accommodated plant and communications equipment, while external facilities incorporated gas cages, cool rooms, and freezers. The project’s success hinged on sophisticated communication strategies that enabled construction progress while protecting vibration-sensitive experiments in adjacent spaces.
