RMT – Ventnor Avenue Refurbishment

WORKING WITHIN THREE FORMER RESIDENTIAL HOMES, TWO OF WHICH ARE OF HERITAGE INTEREST IN WEST PERTH AND THE OTHER HERITAGE LISTED, WE SENSITIVELY REFURBISHED THE SPACES TO BECOME HIGH QUALITY, HIGHLY DESIGNED OFFICE SPACES TO REFLECT THE BRAND OF THE COMPANY.

Features of this project included:

  • Working closely with the architect and client, upon award we carried out investigations within the heritage listed building to uncover some of the services and establish the requirements that were needed to ensure that not only could the next technology being imported into the building was supported, but was also compliant.
  • All the services were upgraded to meet the objectives for the building, enabling operational needs.
  • Taking inspiration from the large, steel framed doors within the State Treasury buildings in the CBD, these were installed to create modern, clean lines within the buildings.
  • Additions to the interior such as columns were removed to take the building back to its original bones, allowing the architecture to shine through
  • Although, a commercial space, high quality, residential style finishes were installed within the buildings with new end of trip finishes, sensitive in style to heritage bathrooms and custom finish joinery to the kitchen.
  • Original jarrah floors were refinished and where damaged made good by specialist tradesmen to provide a contract to the modern furniture installed within the spaces.
  • Externally, all the buildings were repainted to remove the yellowing paint finishes, ensuring all three looked more cohesive next to each other.

This was assisted by the new structural and architectural fancing that encompassed them and the extensive landscaping works including new pergola entrance that created a high quality, seating area for staff and visitors.
