HelloFresh Canningvale Fit Out

HAVING RAPIDLY EXPANDED IN THE AUSTRALIAN MEAL-KIT PROVIDER MARKET, HELLO FRESH TOOK OVER A LARGE WAREHOUSE WITH COOL ROOMS THAT NEEDED UPGRADING, EXPANDING AND INSTALLATION OF RAPID ROLLER SHUTTERS TO MAINTAIN TEMPERATURE. THE WAREHOUSE ENABLED FOOD ITEMS TO BE SOURCED FROM WA TO MEET THE DEMANDS AND NEEDS OF THE WEST AUSTRALIAN MARKET.

Features of this project included:

Working to a highly accelerated programme under and ECI contract, we drew upon our experience with such projects to ensure trade package recommendations were transparent, comprehensive and enabled the client to understand our reasoning and process for recommendation. This allowed the client to make decisions in short time frames to maintain programme.

Despite several latent conditions such as structural issues and uncovering termites, all critical milestones were met ensuring operational needs for Hello fresh were achieved.

Operational needs included the reconfiguration the disused store rooms on the first floor to create a new staff break out area. With the existing egress path not being compliant, we worked proactively with the Project Manager, Architect and consultants to achieve the desired result within budget.

Amenities were upgraded below the break out space to maximise the space and meet compliancy for the amount of staff that were using the facilities.

The main works were to remove a wall that separated two existing cool rooms to create one large space that met their working processes. To do this we engaged a structural engineer to advise on new structural beams and purlins to maintain the integrity of the building.

A new cool room was created at a varying temperature to the main room for protein storage and rapid roller doors were installed to maintain temperature within the facility whilst allowing smooth egress for deliveries and bulk collection of meal-kits.

Within stage two and the extension of the cool rooms, we engaged the structural engineer again to ensure the cool room panels could be suspended off the existing roof structure.

Extensive services upgrades were required to allow for the operational temperatures to be achieved in WA’s climate as well as ensure lighting levels were achieved.
