Fortescue Metals Group – Office Fitout

OUR FIRST PROJECT WITH NEW CLIENTS FMG, THE FFI OFFICES WERE TIME AND COST SENSITIVE AND WERE PLANNED TO BE A REFURBISHMENT OF THE EXISTING TENANCY ON GREAT EASTERN HWY. BUT ONCE CONSTRUCTION COMMENCED, THE SITE TOOK ON A VERY DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE, THROUGH CAREFUL CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT AND VALUE ENGINEERING, THE PROJECT WAS DELIVERED ON PROGRAMME, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, ON BUDGET.

Features of this project include:

A lengthy post tender period where value engineering played a significant part in negotiations. A focus on value and quality whilst reducing costs and scope where possible.

The replacement of half of the existing partition walls due to substandard construction techniques left by the previous tenant.

The complete replacement of existing floorcoverings as previous wear and tear was greater than expected.

A condensed programme required a carefully managed teach of subcontractors, with weekly programme updates, focus on lead times and workflows to ensure the PC date was managed and worked completed ready for the client relocation.
