CURTIN university – FOOD & TEXTILE REFURBISHMENT PROGRAMME

Existing Food Technology and Textile rooms in three schools were stripped to make way for brand new facilities. Works comprised of new food preparation and storage areas, new appliances and washing up stations, as well as the installation of stainless steel work benches and vinyl coverings that meet food preparation regulations. Latent conditions, such as the discovery of asbestos, were overcome as were the challenges of managing three concurrent projects in various locations to deliver these brand new facilities enabling students to have modern, hygienic areas to learn the necessary skills needed to live independently after leaving education and follow career pathways into catering and hospitality.
