ECU Ngoolark Building Fit Out
The award winning and stunning Ngoolark Building is the Student Hub at ECU. The vacant base build space on Level 5 was chosen to relocate the HR team for the University.
Works within Level 5 included creating a new reception area, three open plan work spaces, meeting rooms, meeting zones and storage spaces. All work stations are electronic sit to stand. Offices adjacent and below the new space for the HR team were occupied during all the works.
Level 3’s façade was completely open to the atrium prior to our works. By inserting structural steel and new glass curtain walling, we were able to create a seamless continuation. A damaged part of the existing curtain wall on another floor was also replaced. All works were done out of hours to minimise risk to staff and students. However, due to the needs of the existing users of the space already occupied on Level 3, these works had to be carried out during Orientation Week at the University with extended opening hours as registration was occurring in the main atrium requiring collaboration between our team and the staff on the ground floor to coordinate works accordingly to accommodate the extension to opening hours and create a safe storage area.
