CURTIN UNIVERSITY – B311 LABORATORY & ADMINISTRATION REFURBISHMENT

“Hoskins Contracting demonstrated a high level of professionalism and experience during delivery. They worked collaboratively to deliver on programme, on budget and to a very high standard, whilst minimising disruptions.”

The Department of Environment and Agriculture’s research is directed at allowing people to “continue to develop and flourish while maintaining the quality of their environment.” This too was our objective for the project – to allow the long term research projects and teaching facilities within the building to continue without disruption while we redeveloped their built environment. A number of research projects required uninterrupted connections to critical services, and others required clean lab status, despite works being carried out right outside their door. Daily communication with the building users and flexibility in our approach were key to delivering each stage on time in order to allow us to commence the next, as well as to exceed the clients expectations and objectives.

The project involved the refurbishment of over 20 laboratories and administration areas over five stages within a live teaching and research facility. The works include an extensive refurbishment of the services, fit out of the laboratory’s and administration areas, improving accessibility to the building, specialised laboratory equipment, laboratory furniture and assisting the university with relocating staff and equipment between stages.
