Curtin B301 Physical Sciences Laboratory Refurbishment

“Their willingness to understand and respond to the particular needs of the university distinguishes their reputation.”
– Charles Boyle, Curtin University

This was the first laboratory refurbishment in the building since it was built over 50 years ago, ensuring that there were a good deal of unknowns to be overcome during the construction phase. The building is host to leading-edge, sensitive research equipment, a research team made up of international scientists, and teaching facilities. A collaborative approach was required to meet the key project objectives, with regular communication the key to ensuring business as usual for staff and students within the building. The end result was the project delivered on time with a high quality of finish and minimal disruptions to operations.

As well as the service intensive, complex fit out of the laboratories within a live environment, the works included the removal of asbestos and contaminated material, a new communications room, communications infrastructure throughout the building and extensive new mechanical plant.
